Why people get stressed? Because people listen to other people and unfortunately other people sometimes say something just to hurt or just to criticize without thinking how their words may impact other people who’s listened.
Human wants to be accepted by the society, that what makes human easily gets stressed if they feel like they’re not accepted.

By being a social animal, human tends to follow the common norm/rule (but it’s not a law) that grows among the society he/she is living. Let’s say if you are living in a circle of people who is very traditional and conservative, it’s going to be difficult to share your thought or idea to them. Or if you’re living among the religious group, it’s also going to difficult to break their wall to accept science. That’s what happened to Copernicus that he was forced to believe that earth is flat… as well as Galileo.
Today, most of the society in the world is not that radical (maybe only in some part of the world still find a “civilized” society is still difficult to apply). No more punishment by giving a poisoned drink to anybody who believes that earth is round and oblate. But in today situation sometimes some people prefer to suicide when they can’t help themselves from the social pressure: overwork, unmarried, not having a child, not good looking, not rich… and other various reasons that lead people to suicide.
Sometimes we choose a wrong decision because of the other people’s influence, and we are failed to think rationally when the influence approaches us while we are feeling emotional. Always be careful at considering other people’s view or critic, not all of it worth to swallow. Take sometimes to think and digest the information/critic/influence from the other people, you are in charge with your decision.
Keeping everyone happy is totally impossible, accepting them at anytime is tiresome. People can be mean sometimes, just pick the positive side and ignore the negative. You’re amazing for what you are, don’t get stressed for what people said to you.
Let them talk… but remember, that you have to keep going.
